Kimtee Foundation provides healthcare for the underprivileged

Kimtee family set up a foundation to help underprivileged people, predominantly in the areas of healthcare and education. Kimtee Foundation's aim is to make good quality medical care accessible to the underprivileged people in the villages closeby. In the memory of Shri Anand Kimtee, a comprehensive medical camp was conducted at Padala Junior College,Bhongir on 19 Feb,2020.

The foundation has seen a footfall of more than 1500 people from all the nearby villages. Expert doctors in every field from various hospitals such as Apollo, Kamineni etc came over to treat patients and provide diagnosis and right treatment to the patients. Students from Sreenidhi college of engineering have chipped in to volunteer and guide the patients through the camp.

We got in touch with the one of the organizers and Kimtee family member, Ruchika Kimtee to know a little more about this medical camp

1)What triggered the idea of organizing a medical camp?

The unexpected cardiac arrest of Shri Anand Kimtee has left a void in our family. We miss him a lot. Every year, on his memorial, we wanted to organize medical camps. We hope that these medical camps could help avert medical emergencies at least for a few families and ensure that proper medical care is provided on time. We plan to do this every year. We do not want any other family to go through a sudden loss like this.

2)Who all do you think contributed to the success of this medical camp?

To be honest, each and every person associated with this camp has helped make it a success. The hospitals have been really kind to extend the services of their doctors to this medical camp.

The village sarpanchs have been extremely helpful in mobilizing the villagers to come forward for their health check ups. Padala engineering college has been gracious enough to lend their campus to conmfortably conduct this camp. We also would like to extend thanks to Sreenidhi college of Engineering for encouraging their students to volunteer and help out the villagers coming to the camp. Last but not the least, the entire Kimtee family, who have dropped their schedules and plans to make time for this medical camp and organize it.

Goodclap would like to applaud this family for setting #GoodnessGoals and hopes that they spread more goodness in the years to come.
